Running

In High school I used to run a lot. It increased in the years following high school to the point that I was running 3 miles a day and loved it! I got busy with life and traveling and later having children that I didn't run as much and eventually stopped. Well, two kids later (2 yr old and 7 month old) and I ran tonight! I cannot believe that I have waited this long to get back into running.

I'll be honest, I love running for the cute work out clothes and new running shoes! But I also really love it for the "runner's high" that only those that run can truly understand. It is exhilarating to run and increase your speed and distance. I've only ever done one actual running 5k but I plan on adding to that this Fall (only the brave, and insane run in the summer in Arkansas). I kept using the excuse that I can never get back to the fitness level that I was at a few years ago or that I can't because I have children so I have no time. Those excuses were not valid! I do have the time. I have an amazing husband who loves our babies and can watch them for the half hour that I'm gone. Truth is he has watched them all day when I have other things that I need to do, so that one was a poor excuse. And for the first reason, my fear of not getting back to that level, well maybe it isn't possible. But maybe I'll get to a higher level of fitness! I can't figure that out until I try.

All that to say: RUNNING IS AWESOME.
